The Way Diesel Tuning Might Enhance Your Automobile

As you purchase a diesel car, you are probably thinking of its good points. You know you're ending up with a efficient vehicle that's intended to last and affordable to drive. On the other hand, diesel cars and trucks have their own share of negatives. Your car is most likely a bit noisy. You have to put up with sluggish throttle response and uninteresting performance. But hang on -- here's some good news for you. Diesel tuning will convert your dependable but stodgy car into something a lot more exhilarating and gratifying to drive.

The best way to perform diesel tuning on present day vehicles will be to customize the software in the engine control unit, or ECU. The ECU handles every factor of engine operation, control signals from various sensors and informing the fuel injection system how to proceed. The ECU's software programmes, or maps, control fuel delivery and timing in order that the engine runs efficiently at any RPM and pollution levels stay within satisfactory levels. The first generation of engine control units kept their maps on a removable computer chip. Newer ECUs have built-in maps that may be accessed via the On Board Diagnostic port.

Diesel tuning involves rewriting the ECU maps to liberate a diesel engine's true potential. Dozens of settings that affect the performance of the vehicle are improved in the remapping process. The purpose of ECU remapping is to attain the the best possible power curve for automobile performance and fuel economy. At the same time, safety variables originally programmed into your ECU must be respected in order to avoid any damage to the engine or drive train.

Diesel motors by their very nature have a very lots of space for performance enhancement. With a high compression ratio in excess of 20:1, cylinders in diesel engines incorporate more air than needed for normal fuel combustion. If you remap the settings within the ECU to enhance fuel injection pressure making better use of the readily available air, it is simple to boost engine power and torque.

Correctly undertaken, diesel tuning by remapping the ECU can make the engine run better, producing extra power and torque. Take, by way of example, a late-model Audi with a 2.0 litre TDi engine and original power output of 140 BHP. Remapping the ECU can potentially boost power to 170 BHP and increase torque by 75 Nm. Of course, power gains will vary, based on the model as well as engine specs. However, a 35% improvement in performance is feasible for many cars or trucks.

After tuning ones diesel car, you can expect to have a smoother, calmer ride with increased immediate accelerator reaction and peppier acceleration. The engine will give you more constant power delivery with less gear changes and less throttle needed for any type of driving. The engine lag and irritating flat spots which are so characteristic of diesel cars will go away.

Added power and torque has realistic uses, too. Stop-and-go driving while in the city will demand lesser number of gear changes and less braking and accelerating Autel MaxiDiag MD808, which in turn translates into fuel savings. Higher mileage motorists will also see much better fuel economy from more effective fuel burning at higher travel speeds. If you need to tow a vacation caravan or some other heavy load, your freshly tuned car has the extra torque it needs to keep up with traffic and pull more safely.

The person who you decide to tune your diesel car must have current ECU tuning equipment and the right skills. Don't even think about trusting your car to one of the cheap service providers. Technologies in new motor vehicles changes so rapidly that firms must continuously revise their gear and software to maintain pace, and you can bet that costs money. Get the car tuned by the true professional and you will have no misgivings afterwards OBD2 Scanner.

For anybody who is annoyed by the personality flaws in your diesel car, diesel tuning can easily enhance its power and performance, making the car more fun to drive and saving you money on fuel. Because of so many pros, it's no surprise that an ECU remap is a preferred vehicle modification for diesel owners.

The Ten Minute Power And Air Tools Maintenance Guide

In the fast-paced world that we live in today, power and air-driven tool maintenance doesn't seem high on our priority list. However, tools are an expensive investment and every one of us wants a power or pneumatic tool to work properly and safely when we pick it up to use it. The best way to ensure this is to perform regular maintenance and cleaning. There are some simple routine maintenance, cleaning, storage and proper usage tips that anyone can understand and perform. They all take only ten minutes or less.

The first thing that most people ignore with a new tool is the operating and care instructions. Right out of the box, if the care instructions are ignored, your new power or air tool is destined to have a decreased life. Improper usage can also doom your tool to an early rest in the junk-pile. There are some parts of a pneumatic tool that need proper oiling, or lubrication, while some components of an electrically driven tool need to be kept free of dust and debris. Keep the care instructions information in a binder, or protect it with plastic and put it in a place you will remember. When it comes time to access the information, perhaps even years from that point, you will be glad you did.

Power tools such as drills, drill presses, power screwdrivers and rotary tools require little maintenance. Keep them clean and store in a clean, dry area where they have some protection. Keep dust and debris away from areas where electricity flows, and protect them from the elements. Check the electrical cord, switches and connectors periodically for damage. Ensure proper tightening of chucks and bits. If the tool has been provided with a case, use it for storage.

Other power tools like tablesaws, bandsaws, mitersaws, sanders and the like all require special attention for their maintenance Autel MaxiPRO MP808TS. This is because the very nature of the tool involves a cutting or abrasive action. These cutting and abrasion surfaces wear out and must be replaced periodically, but it goes deeper than that. Flattening tool surfaces, keeping sawdust and/or resin buildup away from integral components, checking electrical and/or electronic components for any sustained damage, wheel and bearings function and proper lubrication are all important to proper operation and life of the tool.

Air tools are generally piston-driven and they require lubrication. It is a simple operation; just add a few drops of pneumatic oil into the air intake coupling. If you are using your air driven tool every day, it doesn't hurt to oil it daily. Keep a good tight seal to avoid loss of pressure on components by using tape on threaded surfaces Autel MaxiSys MS908. In addition, clean or replace filters, as needed depending on usage of the tool. Remember to protect your tools from moisture and extreme heat and cold. Exposure to moisture can cause corrosion on bare metal surfaces and extreme temperatures can do damage in many ways. Finally, use your tools as they are intended. Most tools are made for specific jobs and when they are subject to stress they weren't designed for, they will likely fail.

The XFR accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds - quite literally breathtaking. The Jaguar XFR has received special attention to deliver the required V8 intake sound character commonly absent on supercharged engines. Intake manifold pressure pulsation's are fed into an acoustic filter at the rear of the engine that is tuned to "tenor C", with the output from the filter ducted into the cabin. The Jaguar XFR is a sabre-toothed tiger of feline badness. The supercharged, direct-injection V8 is good for a jungle-canopy-shaking 510 horsepower - 125 hp up on the naturally aspirated V8, and 0-to-60 bolt that takes but 4.7 seconds.

The History of the Indianapolis 500

Many events in automotive history can be attributed to the creative dream and obsession of a single man to realize his dreams. The Ford and the Jaguar were examples of this. The Indianapolis 500 also began as one man's dream. Carl Fisher of Indianapolis, Indiana conceived the idea of building a racetrack for car manufacturers to test their equipment against that of other manufacturers. And he believed that the general public would be willing to pay to watch these events.

Carl had some friends who were also interested in his dream Launch CReader 6001. Together they searched for and found land, which they were able to buy for $72,000. They then incorporated under the name of Indianapolis Motor Speedway Company.

Although scheduled to open on June 5, 1909, there were several construction delays so the first race was not held until August 19, 1909. Unfortunately, this event was marked by tragedy. Three competitors and two spectators were killed while several other people were injured.

Following these sad occurrences, Fisher announced that the track would be made safer. After paving the track, and installing guardrails, Fisher re-opened the track on December 17, 1909. Many successful events were now held and plans were soon in the works for a new, bigger and better track, which was completed in 1911.

The first Indianapolis 500 was held on May 30, 1911. The winning prize was $17,550. Ray Haroun, driving a Marmon Wasp, won.

However, the race did not arouse any interest in Europe until 1913. That year, in addition to cars from the United States, drivers entered from France, England, Germany and Italy. A European driver, Jules Goux, won, driving a 1913 Peugeot. He was the first European winner. Now the American Indy 500 had earned international status. It continued to grow until World War I; during which time all racing activities were suspended. The track served the war effort as a landing field and was also used as an aviation repair depot.

Following the end of World War I, the first race was held on May 31. The winner's prize was $50,000. But tragedy struck again, the first time since 1911, and three people were killed.

In 1920, Gaston Chevrolet, in a Monroe, was the first driver across the finish line. He was the first American winner since 1912.

In 1927 Carl Fisher sold the Speedway to Eddie Rickenbacker. Over the following years, many changes took place. Then during World War II, the Speedway was left idle. Races were discontinued and it was not needed in the war effort ds808.

After repairs and renovation, it re-opened in 1946. That year, George Robson won.

Many traditions have developed around the race. At the end the Purdue Marching Band plays "Back Home Again in Indiana." When the line "the new mown hay" begins, thousands of multicolored balloons are released into the air.

Since the race occurs on Memorial Day, the band plays "Taps" and a US military aircraft performs a fly-by.

There is a more recent tradition, which began in 1996, of the winning driver and crew kissing the yard of bricks that indicate the start/finish line. It is also traditional that the winner drinks a bottle of milk right after the race.

Over the years, Carl Fisher's dream has probably exceeded his wildest expectations. The winning purse has gone from $27,550 in 1911 to $9,047,150 in 1999. Cars enter and people attend from around the world. Carl Fisher would be happy.

The Evolution Of The Model T

Many people think that Henry Ford invented the automobile and the assembly line, but that is not correct. He did change the world by using the assembly line to manufacture cars and put America on wheels. From 1909 until 1927, Ford turned out the Model T. The 1927 Model T gave way finally, to the Model A OBD2 Scanner. However, from its beginning to end, more than 15 million Model T cars were made. Henry Ford almost singlehandly transformed America's social and economic outlook in the 20th Century.

The 1927 Model T represented a basic formula for success. It was a simple and durable car that was turned out of the factory more economically than another other vehicle of the time, because of Ford's use of the assembly line. The Model T while made on the cheap, was not cheaply made. For instance, the engine was cast en bloc, whereas other car makers made one cylinder at a time and put them together. Ford also came up with the removable cylinder head. Many feared incorrectly that the cylinder would leak, but that was not the case. Model T initially cost $825 when made in 1909. But by 1927 the price of a brand new Model T was down to $260. The reason for this was that as more cars were made, the price was dropped. By 1913 the Ford company could put together a car in 93 minutes, and sold 200,000 vehicles.

Top speed for the 1927 Model T was between 35 to 40 miles per hours, which was pretty good considering that the paved road was still off in the future. Engine cooling was very primitive as was lubrication. The gas tank was situated under the front seat with fuel fed to the engine by gravity. Foot pedals were used to operate the two speed transmission. Rims became available for $25 in 1919. Ford's better idea took his company from making 10,000 cars per year in 1908 to 2 million cars just 15 years later. Ford was outproducing all of the other American car makers put together.

In the first years of Ford Car making, the only color that Model T cars came in was black. Ford is alleged to have said, the public can have any color it wants, as long as its black! Kind of funny now, but back in those days, Japan black enamel paint was the only paint that would dry fast enough to keep up with the helter skelter pace inside the Ford plant on the assembly line.

Today Ford has come a long way, and the power of their powerful Ford Mustang muscle car would blow away the Model T maxidas ds808, but given it's importance in American history, this car will always be a huge piece of Americana
